Certified Public Accountant is a title granted by state boards, and certain work is reserved for it: audited or reviewed financial statements, attestation engagements, and opinions issued under GAAP. We do not provide any of those. If a lender, an investor or a contract requires them, we will say so on the first call and point you to a licensed firm. What we do is the work most owners are actually looking for: books kept current and reconciled every month, business and personal returns prepared and filed, tax planning decided before the year closes, and CFO level reading of the numbers with the owner.
